 At the source of The River Nile Wakisi Village is located near the metropolitan city of Jinja - at the source of The River Nile in Uganda. We have been working in this region since 2007 and have developed long-term relationships with local missionaries and community leaders in Wakisi. A Cartographer's challenge Because transportation and technology are difficult to acquire in Africa, @TS volunteers spent weeks on the ground in Wakisi and other surrounding villages manually charting the land to create a detailed map of the area we are working in. As we continue developing our site, this map will host a wealth of information about each individual orphanage, church and school that we are supporting. |
