Who we are

@theSource is a Canadian-based group of dedicated volunteers, professionals, humanitarians and Christian missionaries working in southeast Africa on poverty relief and economic development projects. 

Working closely alongside Grandview Baptist Church and G.I.V.E International, @theSource volunteers serve in Wakisi Village located in the south east corner of Uganda just north of Lake Victoria at the source of The River Nile.

What we do

In partnership with local spiritual leaders, teachers and missionaries we are committed to providing the under-privileged and under-educated people of Uganda with relief, renewal and resources.

How we do it

Over the past few years, @theSource has worked diligently to develop long-term relationships with key influential members of the Wakisi Village "tribe". It's through these partnerships that we are able to provide:

Relief - meeting the physical needs of individuals and families suffering from poverty, disease and malnourishment.

Renewal - meeting the spiritual and relational needs of the community by investing in the local Evangelical network of churches and educational facilities in the region.

Resources - meeting the educational, financial and developmental needs of the village by investing in construction projects that promote growth and sustainability.
